The situation for Iraqi families is becoming increasingly dire. Since June, nearly 850,000 people have fled their homes to escape the escalating violence. An estimated 40,000 of these people ran for their lives into the Sinjar mountains where they were trapped for days without food or water.
The families who have made the dangerous trek out of the mountains and into neighboring Syria have sought refuge at a small camp where the IRC is providing critical aid to new arrivals suffering from dehydration, diarrhea, sunstroke and injuries sustained during the conflict.
The IRC is well-positioned to expand our response to this humanitarian crisis. Your generous and immediate support will help us ensure that vulnerable families have access to shelter, safe drinking water, basic essentials and emergency health care.
The IRC's efficiency maximizes your gift's impact.

More than 90 cents of every dollar we spend worldwide goes directly to help refugees and others in desperate need.
